This pretty-in-pink bedroom featuring chic Pottery Barn Kids bedding, drapery panels, rug and headboard, is perfect for girly girls who love ladylike finery. (In other words, it’s not the best choice for tomboys.)
How To:
The neutral walls are covered in coastal bead board wainscoting divided into upper and lower halves, with the top a warm white and the lower portion a creamy vanilla. This provides some architectural dimension and is a great weekend-installation project for newly-built homes that need some character. (You can buy easy-to-install bead-board paneling at most home-improvement stores.)
Against this refined backdrop, patterned drapes and bedding pop, without looking too over the top as they might against wallpaper. If she loves prints but isn’t sure what goes and what clashes, a good rule of thumb is to mix florals with wide stripes, as was done in this room, with a few solid elements like the pink matelassé bed and pillow covers thrown in for balance.
Besides Pottery Barn Kids, another option would be to scour flea markets for vintage bed linens with a similar look.
A soft rug warms the hardwood and carries the feminine theme through to the flooring, while an upholstered fabric headboard is a truly luxe touch.
